Great Ocean Road

How to start? Nature on this part of our tour is so grandiose, that it is difficult to describe. First ca. 1 hour drive out of Melbourne and Geelong, then the scenic part begins, with a road, following on the left side the wonderful coastline, on the right side accompanied by soft hills. We do several stops, beginning in Torquay, a small sleepy village with nice beach, where we urgently need a coffee, as I tend to fall asleep, jet lag not yet finished! And here our first Koala, sleeping in a eucalyptus tree, as they do 20 hours a day.

And a dead eucalyptus forest, which endangers the life of koalas. But nobody really understands the reasons for this tree death.

This evening we arrive at Apollo Bay and stay overnight at Clearwan Retreat, which is a very lovely place on top of a hill over Apollo Bay. It's a pity that the weather is foggy and cold, so we leave directly next morning. And then the even more picturesque part begins:
