From Samara through the Karoo to Addo, Eastern Cape

Friday, march 1, was travel day. Not more than 240 km via R75 south, towards the coast. But as the first 30 km are dirt road where we didn't make more than 30 km/h it took us finally 4 hours. Starting in the already well-known semi-dessert landscape with the feeling of being "in the middle of nowhere", the landscape changes step by step into more and more green, finally passing through huge plantations of lemon and citrus fruits, with some small villages and some farm buildings in between.

As usual in restaurants with british tradition dinner begins with a drink in the bar. We meet a nice southafrican couple from Port Elizabeth who celebrate their 39. wedding anniversary in Woodall. His question, when I mentioned that I was in PE already earlier: "Where do you come from?" "Hannover in Germany." "Continental?" "Yes." "Which area?" "Human Resources."So you know Attie Higgs?" "Of course, we'll meet him on Sunday." Their daughter, a lawyer, is married with a german, working for Freshfields in Frankfurt, living in Bad Anspach, now in maternity with a one year old child. Small world! Whoever you start talking with, you find aspects of common interest, and that is how networking works! Some impressions from Wodall:
