Tsitsikamma

Wednesday, March 5, we travel from Shamwari to Tstsikamma, national park at the coast, part of the garden route. Visit in the beautiful St. Francis Bay included.

During our ride we realize how important it is to plan trips and check fuel on time. On the distance of ca. 100 km or even more, no gas station! So we had to leave the N2, asked a farmer on the road where the next and closest gas station would be, and he directed us to Karreedouw. We did the distance with our last rest of fuel, but visited thus a very nice little farmers town, had a great coffee and perfect sandwich in a coffee shop and learned to plan our long tours better.

In the afternoon we finally arrived at our destination, Tsitsikamma National Park, and receive the keys for our chalet, the honeymoon suite ( well chosen for a couple with nearly 40 years of living together). The nature is absolutely fabulous, breathtaking, our house directly at the ocean, the waves to be heard like a permanent music, with strong basses when rolling over the rocks. We couldn't get enough from looking at the wild see. Next day we had a nice walk to the suspension bridges, hill up, hill down, not far, but very steep, with stunning views. And the first snake we saw in Southafrica!
